Verdicchio with a bit of Trebbiano. On the nose look for aromas of apples, sun-dried fruits and hazelnuts. Dry and crisp on the palate with flavors of melon and citrus fruits. There is a stoney earthiness that frames all, which gives away its Marche origin almost immediately (grown in pure sandstone). Traditional grape-stomping by feet, followed by pressing shortly afterwards. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts with a 9 month elevage in stainless steel. The wine is made in a historic family winery located in the medieval village of Maiolati Spontini. The grapes are grown 450m above sea level in a vineyard in Cupramontana, an area historically lauded for the production of Verdicchio grapes.
